This couch if freaking insane. I am not a huge fan of it but I am pretty sure that if my husband had 30 large burning a hole in his pocket and saw this couch, I would soon be finding a place for it.

Taking common, everyday materials and re-purposing them, Johnny Swing has created practical art that is as stunning to view as it is stimulating to use. His nickel couch, made of over 6400 welded nickels, is a magnificient piece of work that is contoured for the body. An alumnus of Skidmore College and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Johnny Swing has been creating art professionally for two decades. He holds a NYC class 1 structural steel welding license. Although presently a New Englander, he spent the majority of his career as an artist in New York City's eclectic East Village. His pieces can be found in museum collection and art centers around the world.

There's something vaguely fascinating about that, although I question it's real comfort. I bet it would be cool in the summer though (provided it wasn't in direct sunlight).
Ha. The best part about this couch is that it is a felony. It's illegal to deface or otherwise alter official currency. At least it is in Canada. When they phased out the $2 bill and started making $2 coins, a news anchor ripped up a $2bill on the air and was forced to either tape it back together or get subpoenaed. Teehee. "The Felony Couch."
In the US, it is only illegal to deface or alter official currency if you have the intent to defraud. I get squashed pennies all the time from various tourist locations and they are perfectly legal because there is no intent to defraud. I'm not altering my penny to look like a dime or anything.
